Dipping the Dwarf, part 2
After a band of ghouls attack Sandpoint, the party finds another item with the Foxglove crest embroidered on it. The group heads out to the Foxglove manor to see why if there are any explanations of the ghouls origins. Arriving the outside the manor, the party examines the ruined out building and is immediately swarmed by four groups of undead bird-parts. Kagazume dispatches one group, then Nim channels and destroys the remaining three groups.
Exploring the well, the party lowers the dwarf Seamus down and he discovers a passage. After securing the line, Nim rides down on the gecko and Seamus responds with a dirty look and a not so nice hand gesture. Working their way through the lower caverns, the group battles a ghoulish bat, a couple gangs of ghouls, and some ghastly goblins. Fairing well, the ambitious group assaults a locked stone door. Inside was the horror responsible for the plague of ghouls, the skinsaw man. Wailing at Crukdon, he reveals that he was jealous of him and that Crukdon was supposed to die. The battle goes and Crukdon is the primary focus of the skinsaw man's attacks. With the nearby caverns cleared, the skinsaw man fights alone versus the intrepid musicians and eventually falls.
Nim analyzes the magical, evil fungus and determines that it must be expunged. The group heads to town to fetch a scroll that will do the job.

It Goes In Dry
The party approaches the barn and explores it. Signs of ghouls nesting and death. Entering the farm house from the front and back is met with instant response. A ghast in the kitchen and three ghouls in the front of the house. Nim and Seamus battle the ghast in the back of the house, in the kitchen. Crukdon, Kagazumi, and Shiroi-o battle the three ghouls in the front of the house. In the fight Shiroi-o gets bitten by the ghoul and doesn't feel so good. Texas “Point Blank” Pete and the case of the peckish people of ghoulish persuasion.
After several days of rest and recouperation, the fine fellows of the Elvish Peshley Band have processed their loot and put in for a few equipment enhancements. A quick trip to Magnimar on the Squidmarked, as the ship makes a return trip to Absalom, the band aquires the goods and services. The return trip to Sandpoint is uneventful, as the group returns to the Rusty Dragon Inn to discuss the catacombs under sandpoint.
The town has deeded ownership of the catacombs to the members of the Elvish Peshly Band. The glassworks entrance has been secured with a pair of iron doors at each end. Ameiko has agreed to the arrangment, as she has hired a crew to clean up the glassworks and hired a few retired workers to come back and get the place up and running again. The alley entrance now has a small workshed over it and is secured with an iron door underneath the floor of the workshop.
Negotiations continue with the goblins, who want to return to Thistletop. The tribal druid is trying to get a new chief elected, but the process is complicated by the fact that a group of the goblins want Crukdon to be chief even though he is not a goblin. Some of the tribe want to move, some do not. The druid is keeping the process moving forward. The band will need to decide the outcome of Thistletop.
Then Sheriff Hemlock shows up asking for help. A string of murders has him feeling like he’s over his head and ask the group to look into it. He discusses, at length, all of the recent events and happenings in the past that lead him to believe there is a serial killer at work. So the group begins looking into the gruesome scene at the sawmill, the two men locked up in jail, and the historian working at the lighthouse. The party discovers that the killer might be a ghast.
After exhausting leads in town, the party out to the sanitorium to interview the insane bodyguard of the three conartists that were killed several days ago. The sanitorium is a bit creepy, and the proprietor is not too friendly. Only after persuading him does he consent to the patient interview, at the end of which he succumbs to the ghoul fever and attacks. The doctor apologizes and begs the party not to tell anyone about the event. As the party leaves Sheriff Hemlock shows up with more good news.
There are several families from farms to the south, arriving in Sandpoint to escape from the walking scarecrows. Farmers have been killed and some are missing. So the party sets off to the south to see what is going on.
Talking to seveal of the farmers, the party heads toward the Hambly farm which seems to be the start of the scarecrow problem. As they approach, some of the scarecrows jump off their stand and attack. It is easy enough to figure out they are ghouls, and as the party searches the farms other scarecrow and undisguised ghouls attack. The party finds a ‘survivor’ hidden in one of the scarecrows. Crukdon poked it with his naginata, and it didn’t respond like the others.

Crab Grab
Descending into the lower level, the brave group begins exploring and stumbles into a nasty slasing trap. While dealing with that, the party is separated and Droka is on his own. With all of the commotion, the real leader of Thistletop, the half demonic Nualla attacks Droka with her Yeth hound. Droka whacks the Yeth hound with his earthbreaker and takes it out in one shot. Soon, Droka is reinforced and the party slows backs Nualla into her lair. No match for the focused attention of the entire group, Nualla falls.
Exploring further, the party learns more about the history of Thistletop and discovers an ancient creature trapped. The barghest is insance and attacks with fury but does not survive the decision to do so. In the crypt, the party finds a few shadows which prove more troublesome. But Nim keeps the channeling going until they too fall. In the final cavern, Seamus jumps into the claws of a giant crab, so the rest of the party won't be grappled. The crab is a tough opponent, but Seamus is equally combat stubborn. The dinner menu was all-you-can-eat crab cakes.

Nobody Said There'd Be Tentacles
The party continues their exploration of Thistletop, and after several rooms find a courtyard full of goblin dogs. No match for the heroes of Sandpoint, the dogs are dispatched swiftly. The group discovers a starving war horse in the out building. With a little food, and some animal handling, the horse is made calm enough to be escorted out to the band's camp in the thickets. Moving through the rest of Thistletop, a passage to the lower levels is discovered.
Heading down, the party discovers a chapel with two flying, shadowy demon dogs. At their howling, Seamus felt like running down the halway. The rest of the party battles the hounds, and Seamus comes back and wades into the scrap. The hounds fall, but not after two supernaturally loud howls alert everyone on Thistletop that there are intruders.
Moving on the party encounters the 'longshanks' that the druid warned them about. Each in a wave the bugbear, fighter, and mage. Gathering the loot, the party makes it though the storage area and into a cavern open to the sea. Inside the cavern a strange tentacled squid monster lurks around the ceiling, the party moves in. No one succumbs to a tentacle grapple or the poison and the monster falls. Searching, the party discovers the room the attacks on Thistletop were planned in.

Barbarians at the Gate
The party launches the assault on the gate with an invisible charging dwarf brawler. Distracted, the goblins on guard were no match for the party. Quickly moving inside the party takes out two more goblins and explore there way up to the throne room of the goblin chief, Ripnugget. Bursting in, Droka and Seamus tie up the goblin commandos in the middle of the room. The rest of the group deals with the warchanter and chief Ripnugget. The warchanter is subdued early, but Ripnugget proves formidable. Charging across the room on a giant gecko, the party finds it difficult to bring him down. Ultimately the band succeeds against the goblins, and retreats into a side room to regroup after the taming of the gecko.
